We recommend that guests stay in the nearby town of Alès, from where we will be providing transport to and from the venue.

We will be providing transport to and from the ibis Centr'Ales and Le Riche and recommend that our guests choose to stay in one of these hotels.

Alès has a selection of budget and mid-range hotels outlined available on Tripadvisor.

There are a number of independent Gîtes and Bed & Breakfasts in the surrounding countryside, including the closest village to the venue, Vézénobres.
Alastair Sawdays has a good selection to choose from.

The closest top-end hotels are located in Nîmes, which is 40 minutes from the venue.

All accommodation at the venue is reserved for close family of the bride and groom.

TO FRANCE

By Air

There are several airports within 2 hours of the venue. The closest airport is Nîmes-Alès-Camargue-Cévennes FNI which is a 50 minute drive from Alès. A taxi from Nîmes to Alès will cost approximately €80.

Other nearby airports include Montpellier-Méditerranée MPL (70 minute drive), Marseille Provence MRS (1 hour 40 minute drive) and Béziers Cap d'Agde Airport BZR (1 hour 50 minute drive).

We recommend hiring a car to travel to Alès. Free parking is available for guests of the ibis hotel and there are also three pay as you go car parks in the centre of Alès.

By Rail

The Eurostar runs trains directly to Avignon from London St Pancras in September. The train journey takes 5 hours 40 minutes and Avignon is a 1 hour 20 minute drive to Alès.

Trains run to Alès en Cevennes station with SNCF from the Gare de Nîmes, Montpellier Saint-Roch, Béziers, Avignon and Marseille St Char. We advise checking the timetable as a limited service operates at weekends and evenings.

- By Coach -

Coaches to the venue will pick up guests from the ibis Centr'Ales and Le Riche at 15.30. Please advise when you RSVP whether you expect to use the coach service. Further details will be sent to guests by email before the wedding.

If you are running late on the day, please contact the best men.

Coaches will return to the ibis Centr'Ales and Le Riche, departing from the venue at 01.00 and 03.00.

If you prefer to book a taxi, the venue recommends Taxi Bessiere who can be contacted on +33 6 03 34 45 89. You can also contact Alès Taxi on +33 4 66 52 90 09. We recommend pre-booking taxis well in advance.

The venue has unlimited parking if you wish to drive.

Dress Code

We are hoping the weather on our big day will be hot and sunny. Average temperatures in Alès in September range from 13C to 25C but could be as high as 30C.

Collared shirts and trousers with shoes you feel comfortable in (no trainers please). Jackets and ties are optional and may not be advisable in hot weather.

The ceremony and cocktail reception will hopefully be outdoors. The terrain will include grass and cobbled paths which may be hard to walk on in high heels and stilettos. You may wish to bring a wrap for later on in the evening.

Wedding Gifts

We are fortunate to have everything we need. Please bring only your company and your appetite on the day. A box will be provided for cards on arrival.

Children

We regret that we are only able to cater for small children.

Children are welcome at the ceremony and drinks reception. To allow the adults to enjoy the evening dinner and dancing, we respectfully ask that parents do not bring their children into the reception hall after 20.00.

To assist, we are providing childcare throughout the wedding. English speaking nannies will be available from 17.30 providing entertainment. A children's buffet dinner will be served at 18.00. Later in the evening the nannies will take care of the children in an area close to the reception hall so that parents can check on them regularly throughout the evening. There will also be beds provided.

Life guards will be in place at the pool area on both Saturday and Sunday however the pool will not be in use during the wedding on Saturday.
